Automobile insurance protects you in case you are in an accident. In North Carolina, it is mandated – and your insurance company will provide coverage for damage to or theft of your car under property coverage, legal responsibility to others for bodily injury or property damage under liability coverage and the treatment of injuries, rehabilitation and – depending on the coverage you chose – sometimes loss of wages and funeral expenses. You will be responsible for the premium, and in case of any damages, there will be a deductible that you will be responsible for as well.
A deductible is the amount of money that you are responsible for should you need to pay for damages as a result of an accident, and a premium is the total amount that the insurance company charges for your auto insurance policy.
There are different types of auto coverage that may cause your premium to change.
